Mind Body Workshop

What is The Study of Mind Body Medicine?

Center For Nutritional Medicine - Mind Body Medicine Workshop

The study of Mind-Body Medicine seeks to explore and understand the way that thoughts, emotions and feelings affect our health and there is a well-documented body of research explaining how this works on a biological level.

The 'Mind-Body' connection is real.

It is believed that stress contributes to 80% of all the chronic medical conditions in our society.

Most of our patients, when asked, are clearly aware of how the stress in their lives, and how emotional issues, are affecting not just their medical symptoms, but their well being on a daily level.

Using Mind Body Therapies to Teach "Self Care"

We work with our patients in several ways to teach them mind-body skills.

These skills can help to reduce stress, and can enhance a persons ability to take better care of themselves.

This is called self-care, and an important tool to be used on the journey toward healing and good health.

We believe this is extremely important and bring this teaching to our work with individual patients and also in group workshops.

Center for Nutritional Medicine's Mind Body Workshop

One of the services offered at the Center for Nutritional Medicine is the opportunity to join a Mind Body Skills Group (Mind Body Workshop).

The group model we use was developed by the Center For Mind Body Medicine in Washington DC.

Dr. Blum has been teaching these groups for 8 years, and is fully certified in addition to being a faculty member at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, where she also teaches in their training programs.

Incorporate Mind Body Medicine into your Daily Life

Mind Body Skills groups consist of 7-9 people, meeting for 2 hours per week over a 10 week period.

It requires a commitment of time, and in return you will learn a different mind-body skill each week. Imagery, meditation, biofeedback, autogenics, self-hypnosis, nutrition, spirituality and healing are all part of the curriculum.

The goal is for you to try many different things, and hopefully find a particular mind body technique that you can incorporate into your daily life.
